If you’re new to my blog, welcome! This is a way that I like to connect with you and share the things that I believe matter most when it comes to transforming your life, business, and career in a sustainable way. This is also where I share about opportunities that I think you may be interested, so use this blog in whatever way supports you best.
If you’re a returning reader, it’s so good to be with you again. I hope you’ve been well since my last share.
I have a handful of themes, that I rotate between, that I find to be most pertinent for mindset work and the science of transformation. The theme of today’s newsletter is entrepreneurship–part 2! After sending the last post, I received an email from one of my readers offering some additional insight, and I thought it was brilliant.
I was given permission to share this exchange with you. Here it is:
“An addition to your thoughts on becoming an entrepreneur: Some people have to become entrepreneurs because they’ve been laid off and need to start making a living fast. I’ve always been an entrepreneur, but at one time also had a 9 to 5 job that laid me off. I had to take my severance money and use that as a cushion for turning my side business into my full-time business within a couple of months. Going into year FIVE of my business this year! For me, there was no if, there was only when and how. Hope that gives you some insight into other potential clients!”
My response:
Clearly, entrepreneurship is for you! Kudos to you for making it work in your situation. Many people would have had no choice but to go back to the bump and grind of the 9 to 5. Thanks for sharing your insights! It’s much appreciated!”
This email exchange made me think of myself when I was laid off in 2011. While the lay off was brief, entrepreneurship didn’t even cross my mind. I had no side hustle to invest my time, money, and energy in, so I gave myself some space before applying to other jobs, and I picked up some shifts working the door at my friend’s club. LOL I was so awesome that I was a sought after door gal for a hot minute. I digress.
I got my job back about a month later, but I truly don’t think going into business for myself would’ve crossed my mind because I had no idea that was something I could have.
If you’re like I was and you don’t know being a business owner is an option for you, anything is possible! DREAM BIG.
The next thing I thought of was what I get to witness with a lot of clients (and what I got to witness on my former coaching team) with side hustles. I have come to find that when your ‘on the side’ biz wants to finish being birthed, it has the ability to reorganize the energy around you so it gets to be front and center. I’ve seen this show up as lay offs, getting fired, positions being dissolved, etc.
For some, the sink or swim situation enables them to create what they may not have created before; it applies that magical amount of pressure just like when a diamond is being made.
For others, even if entrepreneurship is, seemly, their only option, they will sink if it’s not for them and if they don’t fully choose it.
At the end of the day, it always comes down to whether or not we choose it, and this reader chose it, and she is a badass!!!!!
I hope this additional insight provided you with as much as it provided me.
The next blog will be featuring a guest writer, and I’m thrilled to share this man with you. I just know you’ll love him as much as I do.
If you read the last blog, you may remember that I was going to be a guest on Mind Body Radio… It was a short snippet about what mindset coaching is and why my approach is so unique. Check it out here!
It went so well that I’ll be hosting my own 30 minute show on the 13th at 3 pm EST. Fingers crossed for sponsorship, y’all!!!!! Having my own radio show would, literally, be a dream come true.
Here are a few events that you may want to attend…
If you’re a woman in the Charlotte, NC area, I’d love for you to join my simple wellness team and I for a morning of self care: Choosing Calm & Cozy- a hygge-inspired event. To quote a gal on my simple wellness team, “The Danish have it going on these days with a tradition of theirs known as hygge. Hygge is a quality of coziness that makes a person feel content and comfortable. Some other definitions are “cozy togetherness”, “coziness of the soul”, and “taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things.” We will create an in-home atmosphere that is soft, soothing, nourishing, calm and delightful that is bound to soothe our souls.” When we let people love us up, we are in receiving mode. Many women struggle to fully receive and this can be a block to manifesting as much as we’re truly capable of. Receiving is often access to massive breakthroughs. Contact me for details! This is at one of our homes, so I’m not sharing the invite publicly.
If you’re a human in the Charlotte, NC area who would like to bridge the gap between your yoga on the mat and in your life, save your spot for Yoga Off the Mat: Because That’s Where Life Happens! and create the space for YOU. This is on March 1st from 11 am – 1 pm at Okra.
Last, but not least, there are still 2 spots open for Costa Rica, and registration is open for a tad longer. I’ good with just brining the 6 who are already registered, but I know there are 2 more people out there who need this to source their next breakthrough in power. Holla!
Need more connection?!? I’m quite active in my social media stories. Come and say hi!
As always, please, share this post with anyone who may need to see it. Often times, my greatest gifts come from my tribe who are looking out for me.
