HOWDY, BRAVE & DARING LEADER,

The holidays are a season of yoga even if you don’t put your body into a bunch of different shapes because yoga simply means “to unite”, and this is a time where many of us choose to connect and be present with one another on a deeper level than through the rest of the year.

For many of us, this may look different this year as we are still in a global pandemic. All my love to anyone who is feeling challenged and up against their stuff right now. This year has been one for the transformational record books if we’ve been present enough (and, in many cases, privileged enough) to see all the opportunity that surrounds us.

This year, I’m preparing my dear, sweet Moose (My cat of 18 years.) to transition.  I’ve been focusing on being with the emotion and allowing it to move vs. feeling the need to be trapped in any one piece of it, and it’s been beautiful.

Back in 2016 when we said farewell to our, Wedel, my coach and I used the process to create a breakthrough in how I grieved. When I leaned into it, it opened a Pandora’s box of unprocessed emotion – wow! I could feel everything I had stuffed down rising to the surface to be felt.

Since, I’ve been intentional with having healthy outlets for the feels and using my breath, body movement and postures, mind training, and connection to the divine to continue expanding my emotional bandwidth so I have space for all of it at the same  time.

Through the lens of yoga, I’d consider Moose and I to be in a new pose, and I’m exploring all that goes with that…

Noticing my:

  • shallow breath — At times during this process, shallow, labored. At others, full, expansive, nourishing, healing.
  • jaw — Here and there, super tense and tight. At others, I don’t notice it.
  • tongue — On occasion, plastered to the roof of my mouth in stress. The rest of the time, right where it should be.
  • upper back — Sometimes, sooooo tight and constricted! Thankfully, at others, I can move the breath around my upper body to create space and reduce pain.
  • survival mechanism —  My fear based need to “control”. Because I can’t “control” something that is so painful was making me want to try and have the illusion of control in other areas of my life. Fortunately, I’ve moved passed that now.
  • ever increasing comfort with the unknown — Just like you’ll never know what you’ll get with your yoga practice, that’s how I feel each moment of every day when it comes to my emotions. Noticing the grief and anger and sadness that is stored in my body, and I am looking at how I can make sounds, move breath, and move the energy just like in yoga.

Every time I talk about yoga, I always share that it has very little to do with the shapes we put our bodies in and everything to do with our breath and how we’re being with ourselves. You may not practice yoga at all, but may be the biggest yogi of anyone you know.

SEEKING A BIT MORE SUPPORT FOR 2021?

INTERESTED IN EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING VS. INTELLECTUALIZING EVERYTHING?

What would be possible if you knew how to be and do all those empowering slogans you see on t-shirts, coffee mugs, bumper stickers, etc?

What if you could easily:

  1. “Channel your divine wisdom”
  2. “Own your power”
  3. “Speak your truth”,
  4. Live in alignment”

While you may not know how to do this, it’s only because most of us haven’t been taught due to how much emphasis our culture has put on intellectual brilliance while, almost completely, leaving out emotional intelligence.

There are ways to live these powerful phrases, and I have created a winter workshop series in order to do just that!

After coaching leaders for the past (almost) 7 years, I’ve noticed they need more than a coaching conversation to truly embody much of what we discuss, and this is my response!

Each monthly theme aligns with the energy of that month’s full moon, and the entire series will honor the rhythm and flow of nature teaching you to do the same. This will give us access to the most ease and flow possible as we’ll, literally, be working with all the energy that is present at all times.

What excites me most is that all sessions will be recorded, so you can catch the playback if you can’t make all the sessions! In fact, I have one registrant who prefers to do this by listening to recordings only.
SESSIONS WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• Connection to breath

• Gentle movement and postures to embody the learning

• Sharing: Being seen and heard and bearing witness to others truth is healing

• Writing: When pen is put to paper, we are a channel for our soul’s musings

• Coaching tools to increase your speed, power, and elevation

• Other soul nurturing experiential exercises

In between sessions, you will have access to a Voxer thread so the group can stay connected if desired.

INTERESTED IN THE COACHING SIDE OF THINGS?
To me, coaching is like yoga for the mind and is actually what allowed me to deepen my yoga practice. Simultaneously, coaching has also made it easier to connect more to my yoga practice. The two really are quite, magically, intertwined.

After years of, mostly, offering only one to one coaching, I’m excited to have more group creations to share with you.

What one of the current participants had to say recently about “Dawn: Gather and Grow Group Coaching”… “I was thinking about this group & realized how GRATEFUL I am for this safe little community. This space where we can be vulnerable & authentic. Be heard & seen. Share our goals, dreams & fears. We recognize each other’s powers & speak it back to each other. Empower each other to grow. I am so happy I have you guys, especially today. Thank you for helping me and supporting me!!

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • 2-90 minute coaching sessions/month Group is limited to 5
  • $142/month with a 30-day notice to complete the group
  • In between coaching sessions, we have a Voxer thread we use to stay connected, share wins, get support on challenges, and to just have the knowing that we have a tribe of people there for us and with us.
  • There’s a time and place for one on one versus group coaching. Sometimes, we want and need 100% of the focus on us. At others, we want to share space with a collective mindhive, so we can see ourselves in them and them in us.
  • This format is for you if you want some structure, but not too much. If you don’t want to have to commit to a certain length of time, so you can go more with the flow. If you desire a sense of community and belonging. If you seek some accountability and transformation in a gentle way.

One of my greatest joys is bringing groups of people together and alchemizing the energy. You can trust the group is selected with care and mindfulness and in service of everyone complementing each other.
