Fall is coming, and if you’re like me, you’re hip hip hooraying all over the place! If you’re like one of my besties, you’re damning your cool weather loving friends and saddened that your coconut oil has turned from a liquid back into a solid.
Fall is an invitation to begin turning inward in preparation of the winter season and all that it signifies.
Through the lens of yoga, we begin practicing pratayahara, which means to withdraw. If you’re interested in yoga philosophy, pratayahara is the 5th limb (out of 8) of yoga. Here is a great article about it if you’d like to learn more.
Some things to begin contemplating to best be prepared for this shift:
- What will set you up to nest well so you can rest well?
- What do you know you need to process?
- Do you need to plan some down time where you can take a break from your phone, social media, and all other distractions?
- If you consider the rebirth is in the spring, how do you want to be reborn?
- What do you need to put down during these slower, inner turning months to create this for yourself?
If you visualize and plan now, this will help you create the remainder of the year that is aligned with what you say you want to come to fruition during the next. (This would be great to bring to a 90 minute one off coaching session if you find yourself desiring some support with this! Reply to this newsletter if you would like to explore that possibility.)
During this Friday’s visualization, I will guide you through an experience that will support you in connecting to your future self so you can receive some of those answers. I’ll be going live at 10 am EST, and the playback will be saved under my IGTV tab if you cannot join in.
As you know, this is when I would be gearing up for my 3rd annual fall retreat in Boone, NC at the Art of Living Retreat Center with this year’s theme being: Slow Down to Speed Up. Because Mother Earth had other plans for us this year, it has been rescheduled to October 7 -10, 2021. Save those dates if you are interested in receiving some support with the practice of pratayahara in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains next year!
