As I’m making my way across country, yet again, for phase 2 of Heart Core Leadership training, I’m pondering the goals I set for myself and asking if they’re worthy of me.
All too often, we attempt to sell ourselves short. We forget that we have the power to create anything we choose to commit ourselves to — with commit being the key word here. No commitment? No chance.
You may recall the declaration I shared with you 2 weeks ago, but if not, I’ll refresh your memory.
“By December 6th 2018, I will be sharing with you that I’ve almost doubled my monthly income.”
Because I made the commitment to myself to play full out, it’s not even the 11th of the month, and I’m on track to have the best month I’ve had as an entrepreneur to date! And, it’s not because of all the action I’ve taken even though that does matter…
So, if’s not because I’ve been in massive action, what is causing me to slay this goal so quickly? And what would have me wondering if I may need to play a bigger game?
The answer is self love.
If you’re a person who has been told your whole life that it’s all about what you do, this may be a challenge for you to conceptualize, but stick with me…
You can do and do and do until there’s nothing left to be done, but if you have subconscious and/or unconscious beliefs that it’s not possible for you, you don’t deserve it, it’s going to be too hard, you don’t know how, you’re not smart enough, you don’t’ have the “right” connections, etc. the results will not be anywhere near as mind blowing as they could be.
What became clear to me on my last rendezvous in San Diego was that I still operate much of the time from a place of wanting people to love me and looking for evidence as to whether or not they do or don’t.
As you can imagine, this is exhausting, and it’s a clever set up my fear based parts have created to keep me in my box, and when I’m in my box, I’m limited (and so are you).
While I have done a lot of work in this area, it’s never done. We will be in relationship with ourselves until the day we die, and we get to choose how deep we dive, but the deeper we dive, the more treasures we find.
At times, it’s easy to think we’re moving through our limiting beliefs, but sometimes we aren’t doing anything but redecorating our comfort zone. With some new furniture and some fresh paint up on the walls, we believe we’ve gotten outside of our pattern, but we just spruced it up.
This is what I had been doing to some degree because my resistance to being right was still more powerful than my willingness to peel back the layers of the onion as much as I needed to get the next breakthrough.
Are your goals worthy of you? Do you even declare any? If not, what might be possible if you did?
Where are you selling yourself short? What would shift if you reminded yourself you have the power to create whatever you say you will and commitment is nothing more than a choice?
I’d like to invite you to practice falling truly, madly, and deeply in love with yourself. And I don’t mean this trendy, put a bow on it stuff you see so much of these days. I mean loving the parts of you that remain hidden in the shadows most of the time. Loving ALL of it.
Keep this up and see what happens. RESULTS happen. (Make sure you’re asking for what you want and declaring it, or you may miss out!)
Possibilities are endless when we leave our boxes of comfort, and you will know when you’re not just redecorating because it’ll probably get a little messy, and you’ll be really uncomfortable, which is why I love to practice playing in the chaos.
My advice: when you notice you want to resist, surrender and lean in. You will create from flow, and all you desire will come true, so be sure and set those goals if you didn’t get how important that step is yet!
