Par for the course, anytime I’m seriously dialed in and taking major action in alignment with my purpose, possibilities and opportunities swoop in. (They do for you, too!) As my design (not luck) would have it, August has, officially, become the month of HELL YES!
I said HELL YES to a weekend getaway this past weekend in Savannah knowing that August was going to be a FULL month for me. I’m so grateful I did it anyway because I got just the recharge I needed. (Note the gorgeous photo above of a sunset from a Savannah rooftop.)
I said HELL YES to taking a long term sub position at Be Yoga (Dilworth) teaching slow flow, which started last Thursday. While that may not sound like much, since graduating from my teacher training almost 4 years ago, I’ve only taught deep stretch yoga. Think: holding yoga poses on the floor for long periods of time with comfy props — so, the idea of moving bodies through space terrified me! It terrified me so much that I had trouble sleeping for a full week before. Of course, after teaching it, I felt like I was on the top of the world for conquering that fear and getting great feedback from my students. However, it was still a triggering commitment, and my nervous system was getting all revved up as I rubbed up against my comfort zone.
I said HELL YES to speaking to the WINGS (Women Igniting New Growth and Synchronicity) group, and had the honor of serving them last night. Rather than talk about sales as planned, intuition led me to co-create something new on the spot with the women, and it was better than I could have ever planned. Gratitude (for all that training I had in Chicago to be able to produce a kick ass event out of nothing if I had to) washed over me. Being with these women reinforced my desire to reach massive amounts of people at one time, and I see a stage and microphone in my future. However, this was still something that brought up fears of being liked, loved, and providing value to a new group of women.
I said HELL YES to teaching the karma class at Be Yoga (Dilworth) this Saturday at 2 pm in an effort to raise money for the Metrolina Association for the Blind, and it feels scary to teach 45 minutes of blindfolded yoga. (Don’t worry! It’ll be easy, so join in if you feel called. We’ll finish off with 45 minutes of deep stretch yoga.) I know this will go great, but it’s yet another new thing I’m creating.
I said HELL YES to speak to a class at the Art Institue of Charlotte next week about business, entrepreneurship, career choices, using your purpose, etc. I am thrilled to do this! I wish someone like me would’ve come to my high school or college to tell me I had options outside of the blue print society feeds us. Again, another new thing to do and create, which can feel tiring even if it’s exciting.
I said HELL YES to Heart Core Leadership, which begins on August 27th, and I’ll be heading out to Cali on the 26th. BEYOND ECSTATIC! Yet… wait for it… another new thing to lean into!
Here’s the big takeaway, my friend — I wanted to stop saying HELL YES, but I knew it was where I always stop, and if I didn’t push past, I wouldn’t generate new results.
I decided I was done being at the effect of all the awesomeness I created, and I was going to create a breakthrough in what I could be with at one time rather than getting overwhelmed and having to shut down.
While there have been some minor breakdowns on the way to this commitment, I’ve take exquisite care of myself and gotten A LOT of support along the way, and things are up leveling.
As a stand for your greatness and the possibilities that I know are out there for you, what I want to remind you of is this: the same goes with investing time, money, and energy in yourself and in your business — if you’re not willing to push past where you stop, you won’t generate new results, and when you don’t create new things, you get bored and stuck.
The reason why you don’t want to is why you would be wise to entertain the idea of doing it anyway.
The only thing playing it safe is good for is playing it safe.
Maybe you’ll get lucky. Maybe you won’t. Because that’s the thing with luck… you don’t actually get to say.
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to leave my future up to luck. I’d rather risk everything and create it my way.
What will you be a HELL YES (or a HELL NO) to? ‘Cause there ain’t no hell maybe…
Where will you push past your time, money, and energy story so you have less circumstances to move through later on?
What structure do you need to make that happen?
Think of it like this — if you were building your dream house, wouldn’t you want the best architect, construction crew, and tools? I invite you to treat your life and business the same. I mean… IT’S YOUR LIFE! It’s your business!
I’ll leave you with this quote I read in a blog from someone who just graduated the leadership training I’ll be going through: “To do things on your own, to silently struggle, is the ultimate form of self-punishment. People make the decision to commit, but they don’t succeed on their own.”
I have space for a couple new souls who are D-O-N-E playing small and are ready to take their business and life to the next level. If this is you, reply here to book your (re)discovery session. If you know someone who needs this, give them the power to chose what’s next for them and forward on this email. Together, anything is possible.
