I’m taking a little respite from the heat and humidity of the North Carolina summer by cooling down in Minnesota. Remember when I talked about slowing down to speed up so you can create your business, your life, your dreams, or whatever it is that you’re up to designing by doing less to yield greater results? Well, this is me practicing what I preach.

Last week’s blog gave us some great tips on how to to keep multiple interests in life afloat. What I know to be true is that this is always easier when self love is the driver. Otherwise, we fall into that pattern of trading intentionality for strategy.

As I was pondering self love on Monday, while enjoying yet another Minnesota vacation with my family, I was experiencing deep gratitude.

Here’s what was percolating:

The more we love ourselves, the less willing we are to settle.

This time 4 years ago when my sister was pregnant with twins, I made a commitment to myself that living in North Carolina would not stand in the way of building a relationship with them. It was important to me to know them, to hug them, to kiss them… Since they were born in April, 2015, I have seen them every 3-4 months.

When I made that declaration, I didn’t know how I’d do it. Flying to MN that often (with everything else I had going on) seemed like a lot of time, money and energy. Yet, here I am, and here I have been this whole time because I chose not to let circumstances create my life.

I create my life! And, you do, too!

If it wasn’t for all the coaching I had around my relationship to myself, I may have not chosen to own the life I wanted, and I want you to have the same opportunity to rock your life out because you are worth it.

If you’re ready for the breakthrough of a lifetime in self love, consider joining me in Boone, NC at the Art of Living Retreat Center for a life coaching/yoga retreat: Release. Relax. Restore.
