Why, hello there, awesome —

What if I were to tell you that in order to create your business, your life, your dreams, or whatever it is that you’re up to designing, you actually have to slow down to speed up?

What if I were to tell you that just like winter comes before spring so Mother Nature can get get some good rest in before she let’s it all hang out, we are built exactly the same?

And, what if I were to tell you that you can actually get everything you want without having to hustle?!?

Well, that’s what I’m telling you today, my friend.

What comes up for you when you envision doing less to yield greater results?

What is your take on the ebb and flow of all that is?

Most likely, if you’re a driven person who has been called an overachiever, a perfectionist, etc. this scares you. Don’t worry — you’re not alone; it scares me, too! And, it frightens my most courageous clients.

Most of us have come to feel safe in our busyness. When we are busy, we don’t have time to worry. We don’t have space to notice we may be settling. We don’t have to be with ourselves and our limiting beliefs about what’s possible despite the fact that they lurk in the background running the show.

In terms of a pattern of self-sabotage designed to keep us small, it’s a brilliant scheme! However, while all of that sounds great to our smaller, fearful parts, there’s an impact to that.

It’s exhausting.
It’s overwhelming.
We get sidetracked by the billions of thoughts that float by.
We lose sight of the big picture.

Things don’t actually move forward as fast as they could — our busyness is an illusion and in service of smaller commitments that don’t really matter at the end of the day.

Rather than fulfilling on our dreams, they get filed away in a metaphorical folder marked “later”, which, for most humans, means never.

Constructing biz and life in a sustainable way kinda looks like driving into a sharp turn… you decrease speed before going in and step on the gas at the apex.

Why we are more reliable to generate better outcomes when we surrender to this natural order of things is because there’s a deeper level of intentionality. This is so important to be mindful of that I have the following written down to ask myself everyday — “Where am I trading intentionality for strategy?”

Another perk is that we are less triggered as we rub up against our comfort zone because we are allowing our sweet nervous system to take a break. Typically, this means that we’re less apt to run and hide after making a bold move and that equals faster process.

All that said, even if we can get all this in our head, we’re not good at applying the slowing down technique, and the world around us is a demand to speed up.

What’s the cost of trading intentionality for doing aka strategy? What is one thing you can commit to doing less of starting NOW? Who do you have to be to make that happen? Most importantly, what’s possible on the other side that would make it worth it to play a new game?
