(A Piece of) My Transformational Journey
In 2014, I began my coaching and leadership training and was introduced to my first coach, the words leader and leadership were suddenly everywhere. I was eating, drinking and breathing how I wanted to show up, what I wanted to do, the impact I wanted to make…
I vowed to always be a leader who invests in their personal and professional development so I can lead from a clear, complete, and responsible space. This is my commitment to myself and to those I serve.
Through our leadership, we have the power to transform ourselves, others, and ultimately the world.
Through our leadership we also have the reality that if we are not doing our own work, we can really hurt people.
Nine years into my intentional journey, I had one of the biggest breakthroughs outside of my own cycle of overwhelm.

Because of that breakthrough, I can truly say I have been experiencing new levels of freedom within, which creates space for all the things I want and more.
From this place of possibility, I have even more power and energy to stand for my clients.
From here, things that I used to make hard and see no way out of have shifted.
My overwhelm and busyness created a lot of complexities and instability in how I lived my life and ran my business.
My overwhelm and addiction to doing were holding me back, big time.
The most frustrating thing… undoing a life of living this way was a process, and it took awhile to figure out all the things required.
With a nervous system that needed a lot of regulation and restoration due to a lot of trauma from car accidents, I had to take this into consideration as well and ensure I was being responsible for these needs.
Throw in a touch of OCD and ADHD, and I lived a life of not sleeping much a.k.a. not restoring much, obsessed with perfection, and overwhelmed in the busyness of being an energizer bunny level doer.
This way of living was not fun, but it’s what I knew, and it felt safe. And, it did go on to create a lot for me, but it was also ultimately unsustainable for me.
Learning how to work with all these factors was a non-negotiable on my journey, and it helps me spot them in clients.
What it felt like to me a lot when it built up was wanting to scream, clench my fists, let the top of my head blow off, and run and run and run.
What a journey I’ve been on! I didn’t know if I was ever going to have that breakthrough if I’m honest with you.
During the leveling up process, it was frustrating and painful to keep feeling like I was getting kicked back to where I started.
To have my breakthrough, I had to suspend action a little bit because I was so rooted in it as an energizer level bunny performer.
That was really scary. If I didn’t have the support of a coach and other professionals when I went through that, I would’ve imploded my business instead of maintaining it.
Part of my old pattern used to be to always be expanding and doing even when the timing was off. That was another way I kept getting myself stuck.
I learned in a big way about what it means to be in internal action and restore so I could lead and live from that place.
I have a newfound appreciation for spending more time in the integrative phases of transformative work, knowing now the importance of spending even more time than I thought necessary to solidify a powerful foundation to build on.
As of October 2024, I find myself really beginning to build on top of the foundation I solidified.
What that looks like in business is not getting stuck over and over again due to overwhelm and making things complicated. Getting to explore new levels of possibility and partnership.
What that looks like in personal relationships is being willing to let some old ones fall away, sans the drama. The ones that invite me back to the older versions of myself. Creating space for the ones that truly matter.
